LANGUAGE USAGE
As Secular Humanistic Jews, AHR members are committed to using human-centered and naturalistic language, and to refrain from using language of prayer and worship of any deity in our ceremonies. For the purpose of education with such organizations, we may and must include theological references in exploring written and oral traditions, or referring to theological liturgy, even while framing these citations within a clear secular humanistic explanation. AHR members are encouraged to consistently use these guidelines in all their rabbinical work.
